That’s a big question there, anon. I think it’s probably a combination of sexism from the fedora wearing types and then also the fact we have cosplayers who got famous because of their tits ala jnig. We also get lots of stories of people having lots of crazy wild sex at cons and it just takes people to focus in on that to start create the idea that cosplayer women are all easy sluts if they already view women in a negative light to begin with I guess. Also the fact we have websites dedicated to sexy cosplay like cosplaydeviants doesn’t help maybe. There’s nothing wrong with being a cosplayer and having sex or being sexy of course but the people with this cosplayers are all sluts attitude are usually people not really involved with cosplay themselves and only take a fraction of what they see. This is all just speculation though cause that’s really a huge question and it could be anything.

I think that the problem with the ‘lolita community’ and shitslinging is that in the end we are just all people and people aren’t always going to get along. Sure you wear the same type of clothing but I don’t think it’s ever going to automatically make everyone friends. I think the issue is that we have communities to allow for shitslinging like behind the bows and /cgl/ and what not. I mean, I visit these places yeah but I guess we’d hear less about peoples personal feuds if we didn’t have these places and in turn we’d probably think of the lolita community as less catty. We’d still probably have our own issues within communities though because yeah, a frilly dress does not mean you’re all suddenly bffs. Some things are super petty though I will agree but then other times I’m glad for people bitching about people (if they have good proof) cause then I know who to avoid. I’m still a bit new to lolita I guess and I like to avoid the crazies as best as possible. This perhaps turned a bit long but I guess this is what I think about this ‘shitslinging’ in the loli comm. I think you just gotta try and avoid it and understand that people also make lovely friends and have fabulous times too.
That being said, don’t ignore everything completely. It does help to be slightly aware of drama like scammers cause getting things stolen isn’t cool.
Well I am now back home with a messed up sleeping pattern again and lots of photos and things to sort through.
I’m so glad I found out how to put fanfics on the tablet PC for this journey back.
GLORIOUS LAST DAY SHOPPING (some stuff for friends though lol and cats)
Last day in Japan :(
Okay so I won one of the big prize sets at a amusement place and also got a million badges while playing lolol I will be giving some of this stuff away maybe or selling or something. Then onto my purchases from the day: SNK doujinshi, Kichiku Megane special pack, Hadaka Shitsuji badge then an otome magazine. K-Books are giving you special cards for your purchases but I got a duplicate set so I have lots of them now and then at animate they gave me a choice of a postcard laminate thing so I picked the K design. The otome magazine has some amazing posters and a Free! poster so I’m really happy.
The rest of the day I was at Osaka castle and did a boat tour if anyone wanted to know lol. It’s my last day tomorrow so FINAL SHOP.

Also did you know the Meiji Factory or whatever this was that’s Meiji related is a giant chocolate bar? Cause I didn’t and didn’t expect to see a giant chocolate bar on the way to Kyoto.
Stuff I got in Kyoto and I also found a supermarket so candy kits ahoy! Some things are for family but omg how adorable are these sweets. Though those dangling charm things are for myself as they were just so cute and I have room under my high bed to hang them.
